Pin Your Way To More Web Traffic
Do you have a Pinterest account for your business? If the answer is no, this should be priority number one on your social media to-do list. According to a recent report, Pinterest drives more web traffic than Twitter, YouTube, Google+ and LinkedIn… combined. Only Facebook drives more, and we’re assuming you’ve already got that covered (but if you don’t, we can help!).
Pinterest is an excellent source for referrals. And the best part? It’s free…at least for now. Here are four tips to help you get started using Pinterest for your business:
1. Pin what you sell.
Whether you’re a restaurant putting out delicious burgers or a clothing boutique offering the latest fashion finds, start simple by snapping photos and pinning them! Each pin should have a link back to your website. Which brings us to tip number two…
2. Link every pin back to your site.
If you only take one thing away from this post, this should be it. Every pin needs a link back to your website. This should be found directly beneath your pin, where it says ‘Found on [your site here]’. Every time someone clicks on your pin, it will take them to your site.
What if you don’t see this link? Click on the Edit button to the upper right. In the window that pops up, add your website in the ‘Source’ box.
3. Pin useful information.
A company blog, like this one, is a great place to pull pinnable information. Maybe it’s a gallery of your latest projects or a graphic that links to a popular blog post. Think about the type of information your customers are looking to find.
4. Pin on a regular basis.
The great thing about Pinterest is that your content is evergreen. Every time someone re-pins it, it goes right back up to the top of the pile of content. There’s no expiration date! Take advantage of this by pinning consistently. It doesn’t have to be every day, but a few new pins a few times a week will help keep new traffic rolling in.
With a little effort and a few interesting pins, your business will see a brand new stream of referral traffic. Need a little help getting your feet wet in the world of Pinterest? Kauff’s Web Design is here to help.
